Visit of Distinguished Professor from the University of California, Davis to EECE Dept, Followed by a Technical Seminar on AI-Driven Nanotechnology
Dr. M. Saif Islam, Distinguished Professor and Chair of the ECE Department at the University of California, Davis, USA, visited the Department of EECE at MIST on 7 July. During his visit, he participated in a discussion session with the faculty members of the department, focusing on potential research collaborations between UC Davis and MIST. The discussion also covered recent advancements in nanotechnology and opportunities for knowledge exchange. Following the session, Dr. Islam delivered a technical seminar at the Multipurpose Hall under the banner of the MIST IEEE Student Branch. His talk, titled “Nanotechnology-enhanced AI: Unlocking the Power of Light for Precision Healthcare and Cybersecurity Innovations,” highlighted the integration of AI with advanced semiconductor materials—particularly the integration of CMOS-based imaging platforms with nanostructures for AI-powered multidimensional imaging—paving the way for transformative advancements in healthcare, cybersecurity, and communication.
