Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE)
About Us
Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) department has been established in 2016 to develop much-needed professionals required for the growth of modern industries. The focus of the undergraduate program in IPE is in quality manufacturing, productivity improvement, management, and host of core subjects to meet the emerging technological needs of the industry. Education in IPE is very much learned to practical situations and the relationship of the department with the industries will be strengthened through their involvement in curriculum development and various programs such as seminars, visits, and student projects. The department of IPE aims not only to produce efficient engineers but also well-educated conscientious leaders who can contribute to the development of the country through ameliorating our industries. A typical undergraduate course on Industrial & Production engineering emphasizes on manufacturing and improvement of productivity. A student will also learn the trends of dynamics and control and hence will develop a sound knowledge about overall industrial production and management. He/She will also learn to analyze the emerging technological trends of the industry. Industrial and Production Engineering is a splendid engineering discipline that thrives the development and continuous improvement of any kind of systems, ranging from manufacturing to service industries.
Mission
The mission of Dept of IPE is drawn from the vision of MIST. The four-pronged mission of the Dept of IPE is as under.
- The department of IPE will be globally recognized as a dynamic contributor to the development and dissemination of advanced knowledge in the diverse field of Industrial and Production Engineering.
- Inspire and educate students to develop capabilities to design and implement effective solutions.
- Provide valuable services to industry, society and the IPE profession.

Faculties
The Faculty members of Industrial and Production Engineering Department pursue multidisciplinary knowledge and skills aimed at cultivating comprehensive, technological, socioeconomic, and global understanding. They have vision for highly developed industrial sector of Bangladesh and are constantly working in this aspect. When they’re not busy pioneering the frontiers of their fields, IPE faculty members play a vital role in shaping the MIST’s vibrant campus community. Our teachers aspire to empower students to realize their full potential for serving local and global communities in need of improved conditions.
